Cream Colored Ponies

So, for my first post I thought I'd something I've been wanting to put in writing for a while

This is a random list of things that me smile.

Sheets Billowing- It's so much fun to watch. They flutter and hover in the air unlike any other material I've seen. The motion is almost liquid.

The sound of tires on gravel- To me, it speaks of both power and comfort. The power comes because it sounds like the tires are crunching the earth under them-they're going to get where they're going no matter what, damnit! Comfort comes because you usually hear the sound in parking lots, and whenever I heard it, I would be walking back to the car with my parents after a long day, and I would think, soon, soon, that will be me in a car, I'll be inside, sitting down, in a temperature controlled environment. That was exciting to me.

The sound of airplanes taking off. That sound means you're at the airport, and that means you're either going somewhere exciting, or meeting someone you haven't seen in a while, or about to get reprieve from someone you've been seeing a bit too much of. It can also be a sad goodbye, but those experiences are still pretty new for me.

Being the only person out at the lake-- It's so strange, I love standing out on the dock, and not hearing, or seeing anyone else. Its freeing, relaxing and wonderful.

Taking a cold shower after being hot all day -- its like jumping into the lake, but this is better. First off, it feels cleaner. Second, its better than drinking cold water, because it gets your whole body. Plus, it also has a sort of massage-level quality to it.

Waking up at an ungodly early hour and realizing I have tons of time left to sleep-- This most often happens to me when I wake up cold after my comforter fell off. The first thing I do is find it and get all snuggly and warm, and then I think, oh, I probably have to get up in about 30 minutes. Then I look at the clock, and its so far from when I actually have to be up that my half-awake brain can't even figure out the hours I still have left. And yes, I know 1000 awesome things did this too.

Getting an IM on Facebook: Because it reminds me that I'm NOT Karen, or that person. Its good to know that people like talking to me.

Being Underwater: Because I'm still obsessed with water powers, and I like to think I'm some sort of super-powered type thing cuz I can feel the water move beyond my reach.

Whales: They're cool looking, they move so gracefully and uniquely through the water, and they sing so beautifully.

Pnuemonics: I still have to channel Bruce Almighty to spell beautiful, Allie Brosh taught me the difference between an alot and a lot. And Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally is perhaps the most important thing I learned in math.

When Spell-Check doesn't know pop culture: I've typed Facebook above, and my macbook is convinced that its not a word. Also, either blogspot or my MacBook is trying to tell me that Macbook isn't a real word. (Yes I've spelt it three different ways, I'm testing it.) I guess my computer has self esteem issues and doesn't believe it really exists. Also, most of them don't know that youtube is a perfectly acceptable word. So its FIREFOX that doesn't believe in Macbooks. Geeze, way to hurt a lot of your main customers.
